If You Were Here

I'll never know what you looked like and what you did

I wish you were here to see me grow from a little kid

I wish you were in my presence so I can say "I love you"

Even though I haven't seen you, loving you is all I do

I sometimes think your death is my fault

But I say to myself that is a crazy thought

Why did this have to happen to me

At least you could have been here to name me Juanyta Bradley

I always wonder what it would be like if you were here

But since you can't be, all I have to give you is my love and a few tears

I really want to see you just once in my lifetime

But if not, in my heart, you I can find
